After gaining experience with several large organizations and owning my own business, my skill set seemed to dovetail perfectly with a full time real estate career. At least - that’s what an experienced real estate broker told me in 1983!
After completing the licensing process, I joined Royal Trust Realtor in 1984, and really enjoyed the business of doing evaluations, meeting people, solving problems, and selling real estate.
When A.E. LePage purchased Royal Trust, myself and three associate brokers made the move together to Re/Max as a four-man team. This arrangement allowed us to share the workload and have more time with our families. We were called the A-Team by competing offices, and to my knowledge we were the first such team in the area.
When we decided to form our own Brokerage we were repeatedly told that we should call it A-Team Realty. However, to avoid being sued by a Mr. T, we decided on Team Realty K.W. Inc, and started the business in 1987.
By 1989 we had outgrown our original office, and purchased our own building. In December of 2010, I purchased 100% of the shares from my partners, and continue on today with 20+ licensed agents and a full time office manager.
There are aspects of real estate purchase and sales and that seem pretty simple but there are many elements of a transaction that are complicated and daunting. My job is to make it easy.
